Green Lentils

Whole Dried Raw, Non-GMO

Product of Canada

Our Canadian sourced green lentils are an excellent source of protein and fiber, as well as packed with nutrients. Green lentils have a peppery, earthy flavour, and will maintain a firm texture after being cooked.

Lentils can be easily incorporated into many dishes such as salads, side dishes and soups. Our bags are resealable and will store for 2-3 years in a cool, dry location.

  • Rich in Plant-Based Protein: Green whole lentils are a powerhouse of plant-based protein, making them an ideal choice for vegetarians and vegans. With about 18 grams of protein per cooked cup, they offer a substantial protein punch that supports muscle growth, repair, and general body function. This high protein content also makes them a satisfying addition to meals, helping to keep hunger pangs at bay.
  • Heart Health Ally: Packed with fiber, particularly soluble fiber, green whole lentils are beneficial for heart health. Soluble fiber helps to reduce "bad" LDL cholesterol levels in the blood, which can prevent the buildup of plaque in the arteries and lower the risk of heart disease. Additionally, lentils contain significant amounts of folate and magnesium, which are known to support heart health by improving blood flow and oxygenation throughout the body.
  • Nutritional Powerhouse with Low Impact on Blood Sugar: Green whole lentils are not only nutritious but also have a low glycemic index (GI), meaning they have a minimal impact on blood sugar levels when consumed. This makes them an excellent food choice for individuals managing diabetes or looking to maintain stable blood sugar levels. Moreover, they are rich in essential vitamins and minerals, including iron, potassium, and B vitamins, which play crucial roles in energy production, oxygen transport, and overall cellular health.

Storage

Store dry and raw lentils in a sealed container in a cool dry place. Use within one year for best quality. Cooked lentils can be stored in a sealed container in the fridge for 3 to 4 days. You may also store cooked lentils in the freezer for up to one year in a sealed container or freezer bag.

Great Team

My order of green lentils and flax seeds was promptly processed and I received it in excellent conditions. Frankly, i was a little worried that a sack of 55 lbs lentils might get punctured, but the storehouse team provided it with a sturdy outer package and it survived the long trip in good shape. Ester is a delightful person to deal with. Storehouse is for me THE place to buy.

Good Stuff

Received your shipment quicker than indicated at purchase.
I'm at present testimg to understand how much water is required for these lovely Lentils in my Instant Pot.
Any help you can provide?

Hi Bruce, thanks so much for your reviews, we really appreciate it! As far as lentils to water ratio we use 1 part lentils : 3 parts water and that seems to work great, and you don't need to soak them first. Let us know if that works for you
