Romano/Cranberry Beans (also known as Borlotti Beans)

Non-GMO, Product of Canada

Our Cranberry beans are sourced from Canadian farmers.  Also known as Borlotti beans or Romano beans, these beans have a signature chestnut like flavour and a delicate, creamy texture.

Cranberry beans are rich in fiber and iron, and low in fat and sodium. We package our Cranberry beans in resealable bags, that are perfect for storing in your pantry.

  • Rich in Dietary Fiber: Romano beans are an excellent source of dietary fiber, which is essential for maintaining a healthy digestive system. Fiber aids in preventing constipation, lowering the risk of digestive disorders, and can also help in controlling blood sugar levels by slowing the absorption of sugar into the bloodstream.
  • High in Plant-based Protein: Offering a significant amount of plant-based protein, Romano beans are a great dietary option for vegetarians and vegans looking to increase their protein intake. Protein is crucial for building and repairing tissues, making enzymes and hormones, and it plays an essential role in overall health and muscle maintenance.
  • Loaded with Essential Nutrients: These beans are packed with vital nutrients including iron, which is necessary for the production of healthy red blood cells and preventing anemia; potassium, which can help in maintaining a healthy blood pressure level; and magnesium, which is involved in over 300 biochemical reactions in the body, including energy creation and muscle movements.

Yummy beans

I cooked an old fashioned bean dish in a crockpot. They cooked on low 6 hours, and were delicious. I can’t wait to get my bean cookbook.

Big Fans Now!

I wasn't sure what these were going to be like, however my husband and I are big fans now! Using them in chilis, refrying them for breakfast or using them to replace meat proteins in our dinners are just a few ways we are enjoying them!
